All right, all right.
I’m not breaking any creative ground here but what I am offering is a few quick ideas for dressing up at the office this year using items either already in your closet or items you can wear again ― with a handful of accessories thrown into the mix.
I am lucky to work in an office environment that is casual and just as enthusiast about Halloween as I am. As such, we voted to dress up for Halloween this year on both the Friday before and the Monday of.
This may or may not have had something to do with my insistence that I was going to dress up on Friday, regardless. So I march to the beat of my own drummer. . .
It’s a quirk.
Fortunately, my colleagues and friends put up with my shenanigans.
What is easier than finding Waldo? Becoming him.
There’s some creative freedom here. I’m choosing red sneakers in lieu of brown shoes and a solid red beanie as opposed to a striped one.
Listen. Waldo hasn’t had a wardrobe update since the 80s. I’m bringing him into the times.
And another work-appropriate Halloween costume centered on a classic striped tee is this simple burglar ensemble.
If it isn’t evident at this point, I love stripes.
And, lastly, a quick alternative to a burglar, and also (perhaps) a consequence of, is a prisoner and/or escaped convict Halloween costume.
Accessorize with handcuffs + a cap and you’re golden.
Clearly, Halloween has been monopolizing my thoughts this week!
I wanted to take a moment to throw a bone to us working women who still get giddy over the thought of dressing up while still having to maintain a (remotely) professional appearance.
Do you get to dress up at work? What are your costume ideas for this Halloween? Let me know in the comments!
